Setting up a RTAI System

The right way to have an RTAI system is:
- Download vanilla kernel from f.e. www.kernel.org
- The version of kernel should be only major, not needed though, but if it is your first exeprience make it so. f.e. 2.6.23
- Download rtai, f.e. 3.5 or (better) 3.6_test3
- Unpack kernel and rtai.
- Apply hal patch matches to your kernel version. You can add --dry-run to test the patch first, though.
- Compile kernel.
- Grub or Lilo update.
- REBOOT!
- Compile rtai.
